other day, Junkman mentioned his Chevy 400-powered '57 Porsche 356. Well, one thing led to another, and we invited him to send in some photos for us to share. See, when most guys claim online to have some outrageous engine/car combo ("Dude, I got a '72 Kadett with Detroit Diesel Series 60!") you take the claim with numerous grains of salt. However, when one of our commenters makes such a claim... well, we believe it, because our commenters are just that good
In Junkman's own words: "It's all steel, crazy fast, surprisingly good handling and totally offensive to all Porsche purists." Hooray for offending the purists!
Look, no duct tape, hose clamps, or plywood! Hmm... there must be room for a supercharger in there somewhere...
In addition to doing very clean engine swaps, Junkman is no slouch in the photography department as well. Oh yeah, and this isn't his only European steed with a Detroit heart transplant: "We also have a '62 Deutsch-Bonnet LeMans Spyder which has had its original 2 cylinder, 850cc engine replaced with a Pontiac 400 V8 (possibly out of another LeMans...)" Keep up the good work, Junkman!
Entretanto, isso é apenas minha opinião.

Junte uma Nissan Stagea com um RB26DETT...
e vc terá um "Skyline SW"

What we have here is a Nissan Stagea equipped with an RB26DETT engine and a helping of GT-R body components. We approve strongly (though we're torn about the flashy appearance- wouldn't a total sleeper be even more fun?), and if we had 3.8 million extra yen (about 35 grand in ever-weaker US dollahs) plus shipping costs, we'd totally be bringing this right-hand-drive machine over to these shores. Thanks to BZR for the tip! [monksys.jp]
1996 R34 GT-R face lift Stagea 260RS RB26DETT wagon
Stay your mouth pointer on each thumbnail to switching the image files.
Mileage ; Very Low Mileage 43,000KM around 26,900Mile Color; R34 Nul Original Pearl Gold .
P/S, E/W, E/M, AAC, 5spd Transmission.
Fully loaded, The mileage is guaranteed, and Service history booklet.
This vehicle was shown and won the prize in 2004 Tokyo auto salon.
This is fully, and heavily modified vehicle, So This is not original Japanese domestic model.
This is the only one R34 Face-lifted RB26DETT wagon in the world.

Why was I crazy enough to make this street-machine?
I've always been a Volvo fanatic and my family has always owned Volvos. This is why my first, second and third car (my current) have all been 240's. This one is not the most good-looking I've had, but it's most certainly the most fun one
The 242 is street-legal, as Volvo approves up to 220hp with the vented discs. I was smart and sent applications to the authorities before I started the project.
The car was built by Stein Ove Vikebø www.vikeboe.com , the Volvo-God of Norway! He built it VERY WELL, so it looks like the engine belongs in the car. It feels like it too
The engine is mounted on Diesel mount and one custom, upper
engine mount. The block of the B6304 is almost identical in width, as the B230. Since this engine is so strong, there was also fabricated a torque-rod, so it would not rip itself out of the original mounts.
There were 1 Millon parts that where missing for this project, so it
ended up costing more than US$10.000. But, that was also due to the fact that I wanted everything built as it should be, and even better.
I imported a new LSD from www.reiderracing.com (Dana TrueTrac), which Stein Ove Vikebø then built up a new rear axle for me.
Since my car was Carburettor, there was also a lot of work, since
fuel pumps, filters, brackets, fuel-lines, relays, etc. where all
missing. The car was also in the same time modernized with servo, 81'-> dashboard, etc.
The Volvo 960 instrument cluster was used, due to the fact that the cluster converts some signals to the automatic transmission.
For exhaust, the JT-Superflow 3" for n/a 240's where used.
The downpipe from the 960 did not fit and since it's got double walls, there had to be made a custom collector.
The car is great to drive. If it wasn't for the interior, you would
think you where driving a sports-car! The interior will hopefully be replaced with 262C Bertone interior soon.
If I started this project now, I would rather buy a donor-car, than buy the engine "loose", as then it would be WAY cheaper!
If you are crazy like me, and want to do this:
Buy a Volvo 960 with STIFF rear axle, not multilink!
Then you can use the LSD unit from the rear axle..
Future plans:
22-24mm rear sway-bar, more superflex bushings, adjustable panhard-rod, volvo original spacer-kit (2 x 20mm), new paint, some interior work.
I used to have a really large stereo in the car (32" subwoofer), but
now I want a more simplistic stereo, with a 10" in the rear shelf, 6x9 and a componentset in the front.
Update July 2006
What's new: 18x8.5, ET13 SuperDTM rims. 225/35-18Y tires.
5mm spacers front, 20mm spacer rear left. Have to fit adjustable
panhard-rod to fit the right spacer too.
I have also removed the rear seat and the carpet, considering roll cage and "sporty" seats in front.
